Ocean Cruises

An ocean cruise is a voyage between ports on open water, with your stateroom, meals and entertainment traveling with you. We plan ocean cruises of every style, from small luxury ships to big family-friendly fleets, across the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Alaska, Northern Europe and beyond.

Where the journey is just as extraordinary as the destination.

Ocean cruising opens the door to iconic destinations across the globe, from Mediterranean coastlines and turquoise Caribbean waters to Alaska’s glacier-carved fjords and far-reaching world voyages. You unpack once, and a new port greets you each morning.

Whether you prefer ultra-luxury small ships, premium contemporary fleets, or immersive destination-focused sailings, we match your voyage to your style and pace, with elevated accommodations, exceptional dining and thoughtfully planned shore experiences.

We plan with insider knowledge. Our founder, Jenipher Smith, is a Windstar Cruises Star Specialist and a Luxury Travel Expert with Opulence by Outside Agents, so we know which ship, stateroom and itinerary will fit the way you travel.

Popular Ocean Cruise Destinations

Where the sea takes you farther.

We plan ocean voyages to the world’s most sought-after cruising regions:

  • The Caribbean & Bahamas: white-sand beaches, island hopping and warm water, with sailings year-round.
  • The Mediterranean: Greece, Italy, Spain and the French Riviera, port by port.
  • Alaska: glaciers, wildlife and the Inside Passage, from May through September.
  • Northern Europe: Norway’s fjords, Iceland, the British Isles and the Scandinavian capitals.
  • Long voyages: transatlantic crossings, Asia, the South Pacific and grand world cruises.

Each voyage is matched with a cruise line known for exceptional service, refined accommodations and immersive shore experiences.

Ocean Cruise or River Cruise?

Choose an ocean cruise if you want the widest choice of ships and destinations, relaxing sea days, onboard entertainment, and beach or island ports like the Caribbean, Alaska or the Mediterranean coast.

Choose a river cruise if you want a small ship, a new town almost every day, land always in view, and guided excursions included at most stops.

Explore our River Cruises too, or tell us how you like to travel and we’ll help you choose.

Finding the Right Cruise Line

Luxury and small ships: yacht-style ships with fewer guests, more inclusive fares and smaller ports the big ships can’t reach. As a Windstar Cruises Star Specialist, Jenipher knows these ships and itineraries well. See our current Windstar sailings on Featured Cruises.

Premium and family ships: bigger ships with kids’ clubs, water parks, Broadway-style shows and plenty of dining choices.

Expedition ships: Antarctica, the Arctic and other remote regions. Learn more on our Expeditions & Safaris page.

Ocean Cruise FAQs

What’s included in an ocean cruise fare?

Most fares include your stateroom, main dining and buffet meals, entertainment and many onboard activities. Drinks, specialty restaurants, Wi-Fi, gratuities and shore excursions are often extra on mainstream lines, while luxury lines include much more. We’ll show you exactly what your fare covers.

Which cruise line is right for me?

It depends on how you like to travel: ship size, budget, who’s coming with you, and whether you want nonstop activities or quiet luxury. We compare cruise lines, ships and staterooms for you and recommend the best fit.

When is the best time to take an ocean cruise?

It depends on the region. The Caribbean sails year-round, with the driest weather from December through April. Alaska runs May through September, the Mediterranean April through October, and Northern Europe May through September.

How far ahead should I book an ocean cruise?

We recommend 9 to 18 months ahead, depending on the itinerary. Holiday sailings, suites and popular dates fill first.

Do I need a passport for a cruise?

For cruises that start and end at the same U.S. port, U.S. citizens can often sail with a birth certificate and government-issued photo ID. We still recommend a valid passport, because you’ll need one to fly home from a foreign port in an emergency.

Does it cost more to book through Fulfilling Dreams Travel?

No. In most cases, booking with us costs nothing extra, and we can often secure benefits you typically won’t get by booking direct, such as onboard credit or a better stateroom location.
