Flavors of Cartagena is a 12-night Caribbean voyage for travelers who want more than beach days, with colonial cities, Central American rainforest and a strong food theme. Seven Seas Prestige sails from Miami on March 2, 2028, stops in Key West, crosses the western and central Caribbean to the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, then turns south to Colombia and Costa Rica before ending in Panama City on March 14. March is dry season across much of the region.
Key West is a relaxed start, with the Hemingway Home, Duval Street and sunset at Mallory Square. George Town on Grand Cayman is the base for Seven Mile Beach and the famous sandbar where guests wade among stingrays. Falmouth, on Jamaica’s north coast, has well-preserved Georgian buildings and is close to river rafting and the island’s famous waterfalls. Cabo Rojo, in the far southwest of the Dominican Republic, is near Bahía de las Águilas, one of the country’s most unspoiled beaches.
Cartagena is the culinary and cultural heart of the trip. Its walled old city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, full of colorful balconies and plazas, and the local food, from fresh ceviche to arepas and tropical fruit, is worth exploring. Puerto Limón opens up Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast and its rainforest, where sloths and monkeys are often seen. In Panama City, the restored Casco Viejo district and the canal’s Miraflores Locks make good final explorations.
Seven Seas Prestige is one of Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ newest all-suite ships. The line is known for spacious suites and inclusive fares; most include shore excursions, fine wines and spirits, specialty dining, prepaid gratuities and Wi-Fi, and many include round-trip air. Five sea days balance out the port calls. Ask us what your fare includes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is March a good time for a Caribbean and Panama cruise?
Yes. March is in the dry season for most of the Caribbean and Panama, with warm, sunny weather and lower humidity than summer. It is also well outside the Atlantic hurricane season.
Do I need a passport for a cruise from Miami to Panama City?
Yes. Because this voyage ends in Panama and you will fly home internationally, you need a valid passport. Entry rules for Colombia, Costa Rica and Panama depend on your citizenship, so we will confirm them for you.
What is there to do in Cartagena on a cruise?
Most visitors explore the walled old city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the hilltop Castillo San Felipe de Barajas. It is also a great place to try Colombian food, coffee and fresh tropical fruit.
