This seven-night round trip from Port Canaveral is a great fit for families who want to pair Orlando with a week at sea. MSC Grandiosa sails on February 20, 2027, visits Nassau and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, crosses to Cozumel and Costa Maya on Mexico’s Yucatán coast, and returns on February 27. February falls in the dry season across the western Caribbean, and the timing lines up well with many school winter breaks.
In Nassau, families can explore historic forts and the Queen’s Staircase or spend the day at a beach or water park. Ocean Cay, MSC’s private island, follows with white sand, shallow lagoons and a relaxed pace. Kids love the open space, and parents appreciate how easy the day is.
Cozumel is one of the Caribbean’s top snorkeling and diving spots, with reefs just offshore and calm, clear water. Families can snorkel from shore at a beach park or take a short ferry to Playa del Carmen. Costa Maya offers a chance to see the ancient Maya site of Chacchoben, set in the jungle, or relax at the beaches near the port of Mahahual. With two sea days, everyone has time to enjoy the ship as well.
MSC Grandiosa is one of MSC’s larger, newer ships, with a long indoor promenade, broad entertainment and activities for all ages. MSC is known for its kids’ clubs and international atmosphere. Drink and Wi-Fi packages are typically extra, and we will help you decide which, if any, make sense for your family. MSC Yacht Club offers a private suite area with butler service for travelers who want more space.
Many families add a few days at the Orlando parks before or after sailing. Tell us who is traveling and we will check fares, cabin layouts for families and any current MSC promotions.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far is Port Canaveral from Orlando theme parks?
Port Canaveral is roughly an hour’s drive from the Orlando area, depending on traffic, which makes a pre-cruise theme park stay easy to arrange. We can help with transfers and hotels.
Is Chacchoben worth visiting from Costa Maya?
Many travelers enjoy Chacchoben because it is a well-preserved Maya site in a jungle setting and is reachable from the port in a shore excursion. We can help you weigh it against a beach day if you have young children.
Do I need a passport for an MSC Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral?
On a round trip from a U.S. port, some U.S. citizens may sail with a birth certificate and photo ID, but we recommend passports for everyone. Requirements depend on citizenship, and we will confirm them.
