This seven-night round trip from Rome’s port of Civitavecchia packs ancient history, island life and Italian flavor into one summer week, and it works well for families and first-time visitors to the Mediterranean. MSC Divina sails on June 25, 2027, crosses to Mykonos, continues to Kusadasi and Marmaris in Turkey, stops at Naples on the way back and returns to Civitavecchia on July 2. Late June brings long, hot days and warm seas.

Mykonos is the first island stop, with its windmills, whitewashed lanes, Little Venice waterfront and good beaches. Kusadasi is the gateway to Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean, with the Library of Celsus and a huge Roman theater. It is a must-see for history lovers, though summer heat makes a morning visit wise.

Marmaris sits on a deep, sheltered bay on Turkey’s turquoise coast, known for boat trips and a small castle above the harbor. Naples gives you options: walk the ruins of Pompeii, drive the Amalfi Coast, or simply eat real Neapolitan pizza in the city where it was born. Two sea days give everyone a breather. Adding a few days in Rome before or after the cruise is something we recommend for almost every client.

MSC Divina is a large ship with a classic, elegant style, family activities and kids’ clubs. MSC is a European line at heart, so expect an international mix of guests and announcements in several languages, which many travelers enjoy as part of the experience. Drinks and Wi-Fi are typically extra unless you add a package, and MSC Yacht Club offers a more exclusive suite experience.

Summer in the Mediterranean books up early. Tell us your preferred cabin and travel dates and we will check fares, Rome hotels and any MSC offers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is Civitavecchia from Rome?
Civitavecchia is about an hour or so from central Rome by train or car, depending on traffic. We can arrange transfers and pre- or post-cruise hotels.

Do I need a visa for Turkey on a cruise?
Requirements depend on your citizenship and can change, and some cruise visitors may be covered by special shore-visit rules. We will confirm current requirements before you sail.

Is late June too hot for Ephesus and Pompeii?
Late June is hot at both sites, so early tours, water and sun protection are essential. Many families still enjoy them by going early and pacing the day.
