This seven-night Adriatic round trip is a lovely early-autumn choice for couples, families and anyone who prefers walkable old towns to big-city sightseeing. MSC Armonia sails from Venice on September 26, 2027, calls at Zadar, Corfu, Kotor, Brindisi and Split, and returns on October 3. Late September usually brings warm days, warm seas and thinner crowds than midsummer.

Zadar is a relaxed Croatian city with Roman ruins and the Sea Organ, an installation on the waterfront that plays music as waves pass through it. Corfu’s old town, a UNESCO site, has Venetian fortresses, arcaded streets and a strong Italian influence. Kotor, in Montenegro, sits deep within a fjord-like bay. Its walled old town is charming, and the climb up the fortress walls rewards you with sweeping views, if you are up for the steps.

Brindisi is the gateway to Lecce, a Baroque city in Puglia sometimes called the Florence of the South. Split is built around Diocletian’s Palace, a Roman emperor’s residence that is now a living part of the old town, full of cafes and shops. One sea day gives you a pause in the middle of the week.

MSC Armonia is one of MSC’s smaller, more classic ships, which many travelers find easier to navigate. It still offers family activities and kids’ clubs, along with MSC’s international atmosphere and evening shows. Beverage and internet packages are sold separately, and we can tell you whether one pays off for your group. Large-ship access to Venice has changed in recent years, so we will confirm exactly where and how you board.

Autumn in the Adriatic is one of our favorite recommendations. Send us your dates and preferred cabin and we will check fares, hotel options and any current MSC promotions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do MSC cruises from Venice actually depart?
Rules for large ships in Venice have changed in recent years, and embarkation arrangements can vary. We will confirm the exact port and transfer plan when you book.

Is late September a good time to visit Croatia and Montenegro?
Yes. Late September is generally warm, with sea temperatures still pleasant, and crowds are lighter than in July and August.

Is climbing the Kotor fortress walls hard?
The climb involves many steps and can be steep and hot, so it suits travelers with good mobility. You can enjoy the old town at the bottom without making the climb.
