This eight-night one-way voyage suits adults who want a grown-up take on Alaska’s Inside Passage at the quieter end of the season. Brilliant Lady sails from Seattle on September 2, 2027, heads north to Ketchikan, Sitka and Skagway, cruises Endicott Arm toward Dawes Glacier, then calls at Victoria before ending in Vancouver on September 10. September often brings fall color, fewer crowds and cooler days, though rain is common in Southeast Alaska.

Ketchikan is known for its totem poles and the boardwalk buildings of historic Creek Street, set over a salmon stream. Sitka, once the capital of Russian America, has St. Michael’s Cathedral and Sitka National Historical Park, where totem poles line a coastal rainforest trail. It is one of the less-visited ports on Alaska itineraries, which makes it a nice change of pace.

Skagway was a gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush, and its preserved false-front storefronts look much as they did in the 1890s. The White Pass and Yukon Route railroad climbs into the mountains from here and is one of Alaska’s most popular excursions. The scenic cruising day in Endicott Arm is a highlight: a narrow fjord with steep granite walls, waterfalls and floating ice leading toward Dawes Glacier, conditions permitting. Victoria then adds a touch of British Columbia charm with its Inner Harbour and gardens.

Brilliant Lady was built with Virgin’s design-forward style, and it is adults-only, so the onboard mood is social and relaxed. All restaurants are included, along with Wi-Fi, gratuities, basic drinks and group fitness. Excursions in Alaska can be the biggest extra cost, from rail trips to wildlife cruises, so we help clients choose the ones that matter most to them.

Ending in Vancouver opens up an easy add-on: a night or two in the city, or time in the Canadian Rockies. Let us know your dates and we will price the cruise and check current offers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a passport for an Alaska cruise from Seattle to Vancouver?
Yes, plan on a valid passport. This voyage ends in Canada, and you will fly or travel home across an international border; exact requirements depend on your citizenship, and we will confirm them.

Is September a good time for an Alaska cruise?
September is the shoulder season, with fewer crowds, autumn color and often good value. It tends to be cooler and wetter than midsummer, so pack waterproof layers.

Will we see Dawes Glacier on this cruise?
The itinerary includes scenic cruising in Endicott Arm toward Dawes Glacier. How close the ship gets depends on ice and weather on the day, which is decided by the captain.
