This seven-night round trip from Athens is made for adults who want the Greek islands at their liveliest. Scarlet Lady sails from Piraeus on August 1, 2027, heads to Santorini, crosses to Bodrum on the Turkish coast, continues to Rhodes, then stays overnight in Mykonos before returning to Athens on August 8. August is peak summer in the Aegean: hot, sunny and busy, with the long evenings these islands are famous for.

Santorini is the showpiece. The ship anchors in the flooded caldera, and the whitewashed villages of Fira and Oia line the cliff tops above. Go early to beat the crowds or save your energy for sunset. Bodrum adds a Turkish chapter, with the Castle of St. Peter overlooking the harbor and a relaxed waterfront of cafes and boutiques.

Rhodes Town has one of the best-preserved medieval old towns in Europe, a UNESCO site where you can walk the Street of the Knights and the walls built by the Knights of St. John. The Mykonos overnight is the standout feature of this itinerary. You can explore the windmills and Little Venice by day, take an excursion to the ancient sanctuary on nearby Delos, then stay out late for dinner and the island’s famous nightlife without watching the clock.

Scarlet Lady was Virgin’s first ship and set the tone for the brand: adults-only, stylish and social, with a range of included restaurants instead of a single main dining room. Fares include Wi-Fi, gratuities, basic drinks and group fitness. Excursions, premium beverages and spa treatments are extra. Because August is high season in Greece, booking shore tours and pre-cruise Athens hotels early is wise.

We are glad to plan a few nights in Athens around the cruise, near the Acropolis or by the sea. Tell us how you like to travel and we will check fares, cabins and any onboard credit for this departure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is August a good time for a Greek Isles cruise?
August brings reliably hot, dry weather and warm seas, but it is also the busiest month, especially in Santorini and Mykonos. The Aegean’s summer meltemi winds can make some days breezy, so bring a light layer.

Do I need a visa to visit Bodrum, Turkey, on a cruise?
Visa rules for Turkey depend on your citizenship and can change, and some cruise visitors are covered by shore-visit provisions. We will confirm current requirements for your passport before you sail.

What should I do with an overnight in Mykonos?
Many travelers spend one day on a Delos excursion or a beach outing and use the evening for dinner in Mykonos Town and Little Venice. The overnight means you can enjoy the nightlife without rushing back to the ship.
